Hello there,
Welcome to Her Tech Scripts, the official blog for Empower Her Community. This article marks the start of a new chapter for us at Empower Her Community(EHC).
For me, supporting women has always been my biggest flex. When I got into tech in 2016, there was a wave of tech being for men. This made most women around me believe that tech(technical) sounds like something that requires physical strength.
Still, I realized that tech is actually for anyone and everyone. So I vowed to get as many women as possible into tech space at zero cost for them, hence the birth of EHC.
We’ve been supporting women for over a year (almost two years), and we are currently a community of over 4,700 women across 34 countries and hope to get bigger.
We have successfully kickstarted the careers of 1,500 of these women by offering training in various technical and non-technical skills.
After training, some of these women were able to secure internship placements via the community. In addition, some have gone on to secure full-time employment due to the training they got from the community.
We have partnered with various organizations, some of which are;
GetEquity(A fintech startup that helps startups raise and help individuals invest in such startups) who sponsored our second boot camp.
Non-Tech in Tech(An organization focused on helping people get started in non-technical skills in the tech space) who came in as partners for our maiden edition of the Non-technical Bootcamp.
Blockchain UNIBEN (A campus community focused on training or advocating for blockchain technologies), and they handled the blockchain track for our second technical boot camp.
Google Developers Group( A community of developers)
Jobberman ( A platform to acquire soft skills).
The community is run by many selfless women who volunteer their time and expertise for its growth. It’s been a bitter-sweet journey, but we are making an impact across the globe and are in for more.

To continue to propagate the #womenintech gospel, we are launching “Her Tech Script”, a platform solely designed for every woman thriving in the tech space to tell their stories and help each other grow and share any story/tips that can help/aid growth.
Every woman in tech, including you, has a story to tell and some amazing tips to help other women grow and learn.
If you do not have any story yet, rest assured that you can have and learn all you want on this blog. I am Elizabeth Okaome, and I welcome you to Her Tech Script, a platform to write on and learn.
